Hello fellow crafty friends! I was at one of my favorite stores, (Target) and came across this JOY sign in the Christmas section for $4! That's right, only $4! I love Christmas, and this year, I thought I'd start celebrating the season (yup, it's THAT time of year already), by making my own decorations with my Cottage Cutz dies and my Peachy Keen Stamps. So, seeing that cute sign and knowing it would be cuter after I got through with it, I tossed it into my shopping cart. After getting home and giving it some thought, I decided a gingerbread family would be better than my original snowman thought. I removed the snowflake and filled the O with some matching paper and peppermint candy from my stash.
Next, I prepped my gingerbread family. I love die cuts and stamping, so I have the Cottage Cutz dies as well as the matching Peachy Keen Stamp Sets. I paper pieced to add dimension. To make the girls dresses, I used paper from my stash, the shirt from the snowman die set, and then just cut off the sleeves. I used my Glaze pens for the white frosting and some gems and pearls to decorate their outfits. I used my Copics Blush on the lighter girl to show her rosy cheeks. I replaced the cord with bakers twine from the Twinery. I then placed the gingerbread family on the sign with double sided foam. Once I got it all together, I decided to add another piece...the word CHRISTMAS. I'm entering this in this weeks Peachy Keen Challenge : Anything Goes. Enjoy!
