Ghostly Monster Gal

With this weeks Peachy Keen and My Craft Spot challenges, along with my neighbor decorating for Halloween...cute little ghosts from the 99 cent store...I was inspired to create this ghostly gal. With my PK-692 Monster Mash Face Assortment and a few other supplies, I created this "too cute to spook" ghostly monster gal. Until next time, be good crafters! Enjoy!

Lovely Polka Dots

What's On Your Desk DT Challenge

Hello my crafty friends! Today I wanted to share with you a card that I created with what was on my desk. Well, it's not really my desk, it's more like my kitchen table. I should really work on getting my own desk to craft on, but for now, it's the kitchen table. And not just ON the table, but UNDER the table too! I have this habit of creating elements for my cards (I'm addicted) and then sticking them into a box for another day. (See picture below.) So, when Jennifer from Crafty Card Gallery challenged us Design Team Members to create a card using what was on our desk, I thought I'd pull a few things out of that box. Out came the leaf and the white embossed shape. I must have done that because I am ready for the hot summer to turn into a cool breezy fall...like October usually is...here in Southern California. The red cardstock was on my desk from the Christmas card I was creating the night before, along with an unopened package of fall stamps (Stampabilities). I grabbed my Peachy Keen Stamps (which is in a box on my table within reach) that the leaf was from since I wanted to use the sign and swirl from that same set (never been used before either). I stamped the sign and swirl onto the white embossed shape and then stamped the Give Thanks from Stampabilities. I also used a leaf from the Stampabilities set to cover the red cardstock with. I colored in the stamped images, attached a ribbon to the red cardstock, attached the leaf to the embossed shape, glued that down onto the card, added some bling, and traced over the swirl with my clear glaze pen. It all seemed to magically come together. Here is a recipe list to help you create a card similar to this:

•Colored cardstock
•Background stamp (mini stamps work well to create your own, which is what I did)
•White cardstock that you can emboss/cut out shape from to stamp your main picture onto
•Sentiment and Image stamps
•Bling
•Ribbon

PK Color Challenge #39

Got my recent Peachy Keen shipments (yup, plural...I'm addicted and could use an intervention program) in the mail and thought, I can whip up a card for this weeks Peachy Keen Color Challenge. (At this point I should have stopped myself...I am not capable of just whipping up a card!) Not as simple as I had thought...I found myself getting stuck on the colors and whether they matched the ones in the challenge. I finally decided to just go with it, so... here it is. Happy Birthday Baby

Okay, I'm having too much fun with creating cards this week. And, with the anything goes challenge at Peachy Keen, I'm torn between what card to use...I like the Hello Kitty Birthday Card but I love this card that I made last night so much more! Center Cut Card

Hello fellow crafty friends! I am so excited about mastering a Center Cut Card for a 6.5" square envelope. The envelope is a bit bigger, but it leaves you room to float things off of the edges of the card. You need an A2 sized card for your liner (lighter in color than the color of the cardstock you will be using...I usually use white inside). The cardstock I use is a 6x12" size. One inch in from each side starting at 1.5" up from the bottom, I slice up to 7.5". I create edge folds at 1.5" (valley fold) and 3" (mountain fold) on each side only to the cut and again where the cut ends at 7.5" only from outer part of card to cut area. Then the center fold between the cuts is at 6". Or, you can skip the last 2 steps and just grab your bone folder. Make sure your first two folds, valley and mountain, have been done before lining up the 6 inch sides. Starting from that 6 inch edge using your bone folder, work your way to the top edge where your folds will be. I'm going to try this in a mini version in a few days...I'll post measurements on that once I do. I hope this leaves you with an idea or two in your head, or at least a smile on your face! 3, 2, 1 and DONE!

I woke up this morning and got on the task of the Peachy Keen Connection's October Release Challenge #1 which was 3 buttons, 2 patterned papers, and 1 ribbon. Having looked at my stash of stuff before going to bed last night, I had an idea of what I wanted to make. This came together pretty quick. Which was great because I really wanted to enter these challenges to try and win some of my favorite stamps. I truly am addicted! Happy Monday! Enjoy!

Quick PK Challenge

Earlier this evening I spotted on the Peachy Keen Connection two challenges going on. So, I quickly threw together this Christmas card in order to enter one of the challenges. However, I don't even know if it got uploaded right. I used a mini stamp to make the background, then I added Santa and a sentiment. This challenge was backgrounds. Next challenge is 3 buttons, 2 pattern papers, and a ribbon. Lets see if I can throw that together tomorrow! Enjoy!

One, Two, Three!

Three days is all it took for my Peachy Keen stamp order to arrive! I was so excited because I ordered the Hello Kitty faces & wanted to stamp the face onto the Hello Kitty card I am creating for my niece. I took a PKSketch and really thought outside the box on this one, not something I can usually do easy. Most of the time I see a sketch and follow it shape for shape. Not this time! I was so proud of myself for being able to see it differently! I started by trying out a new fold that I had seen for an A2 sized card to make it 3D. It was very hard for me...but, I got it figured out. So, in looking at the sketch...big partial circle became Hello Kitty. The little circles off to the side became the balloons. The band stayed a band. And the small circle became the sentiment. Wow...how did I do that? I used 3 balloons because my niece turned 3. I also decorated them using Peachy Keen faces. First face teeth, next pacifier, and third for the big girl that she is now. Cute? Well, enjoy!
