Burt's Bees Hydration

I would like to take a break from my regular blog posting to share this info with you. Recently I participated in a Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Campaign as I am a BzzAgent and receive products free or at a discount. I received my Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Kit and from the first application of the face lotion, I felt it working. I love Burt's Bees products, and their Intense Hydration line lives up to its name for sure! If you have dry skin, you'll want to give it a try for yourself! Okay, let's all get back to crafting. For those in the US...Happy Thanksgiving! I am here to share the Crafty Card Gallery Design Team Challenge for November...it is to use a stationary item on our card. Right off I knew I'd use one of my spiral paper clips. But, I wasn't sure how. Then, as I was creating a project for a PK sketch challenge, it hit me...I started on the task of grabbing my stamps and cutting various paper before forgetting my idea. I was on a mission! Best thing, the receiver of this card can even frame it to use as a Thanksgiving Kitchen/Dining Room decoration for years to come. Yes, I think it's THAT cute!

Items needed:
PK-  141 Lil'Tweets Thanksgiving (Can be purchased from Peachy Keen Stamps HERE.)
Red, Orange, White, and Patterned Papers (one with fall leaves, the other decorative with spiral pattern and light enough in color to stamp on)
Copic Markers
White Gelly Roll pen
Matching ribbon
Matching Bling (I used pearls)
Spiral Paper Clip

Here's what I did:
Decided my base color would be white and cut that out to the size I wanted my card to be.
Then I cut the red paper a bit smaller than the white one and the orange one a bit smaller than the red one.  (After folding the white paper in half to have the top and bottom/front and back of my card.) The patterned paper I cut a bit smaller but then took an extra 3/4 of an inch off the longer side.
I cut a strip of leaves one and a half inches wide.
Cut the banners from scraps to a length that looked good. Using the darker color first and stamping my sentiment on the lighter banner.
I then stamped the prayer on the light patterned paper and the bird on a piece of white cardstock. I used my circle punch to punch out the bird, then I colored him with my Copics. Assembled the card using my TOMBO glue and double sided sticky foam. Trimmed the red papers with faux stitching using my white Gelly Roll pen. Tied the ribbon onto the paper clip and placed it on the corner of the card. Added my three dot pearl bling to finish it off.

Christmas Fun

Happy weekend! I just love these Elf stamps from Peachy Keen Stamps!What I love is that I can stamp any face on it from any of their face assortment sets...so, I decided to stamp one of the corny faces on! I think he's cute. I'm looking forward to making some cards with these elves. I also tried doing some Copic Resist. Still trying to get my blending figured out...it's tough! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed seeing what Im up to. TTFN!

Howdy crafty friends! The next Peachy Keen Challenge has begun so since I needed to create a birthday card for my friend, I decided to use the colors from the PK Color Challenge. Using a Mojo Monday Sketch that I recently saw, I started gathering my papers for this challenge. Then I gathered the 3 Peachy Keen stamp sets I needed. I stamped my bird and took out my Copics and gave it my best...I'm still trying to get the hang of blending colors. I stamped my sentiment inside and got to work putting it together. Stamped the other sentiment then added it and bling. Some faux stitching and done! Amazing how quick it comes together when you have colors and a sketch already figured out! It took me longer to color the bird! I hope you enjoy this sweet tweet!

A Bit About Me, Thia

Hi, I'm Thia... the Thia behind Blue Moon Creation. I live in Sunny Southern California with my hubby of 9 years and our two young children. I am currently a stay at home Mom, after working with children with autism for the past 10 years. As for crafting, I have been the crafty type my entire life. In high school, my second year Spanish teacher made me promise to drop 3rd year Spanish to go take art classes. So...I did! I've been creating various hand crafted items for more than 20 years, cards for 15 plus years, and scrapbook pages for about 12 years. Stamping is something I started doing about 6 years ago. I happily create all occasion cards/interactive cards, scrapbook pages, mini scrapbooks, blankets, jewelry, hair accessories, wall art, floral pens...etc. I own two Cricut machines (Baby Bug and the Expression) and I also have the Cuttlebug. I love die cutting and embossing. When I discovered Peachy Keen Stamps earlier this year, I added them to the list of craft supplies I must have, along with my Cricut Carts, Cottage Cutz Dies, embossing folders, Gelly Roll Pens, chalks, and of course, some Copic markers. My cards are featured in the Crafty Card Gallery iPhone app, as well as in their card magazine Creations, 2nd issue. I am currently serving as a member of their Design Team until May 2013. I'm a ribbon winner at the 2012 OC Fair for my card featuring this year's theme, Home Sweet Home.
